Julia Jacklin, Kentish Town Forum, review: 

In a congested genre, folk singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has won a loyal and impassioned following thanks to music that powerfully explores lost love, depression and social transition. Some of them – mostly millennials – comprised the capacity crowd that the 29-year-old Australian held in rapt attention at Kentish Town Forum, with a lively and poignant performance.  

This was the final show of a mammoth tour across Europe and North America, and it had an excitable, end-of-term feel. Jacklin seemed a little dazed, but in a good way, like a teacher who has given up on the curriculum and proposed a game of dodgeball, instead. She took shouted requests from an excitable crowd – “Yeah, why not?”…
