The singer Katherine Jenkins was reportedly mugged as she tried to help an older woman who was being robbed on the street.
Jenkins, 39, was on her way to perform at a charity carol service on Wednesday when she saw a woman being attacked in King’s Road, Chelsea, southwest London.
The Welsh mezzo-soprano was robbed herself as she intervened at about 3.15pm, the Mail Online said.
Police attended and arrested two 15-year-old girls on suspicion of robbery.
The Metropolitan Police said an officer was assaulted but did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesperson for Jenkins confirmed the incident on Thursday.
She had reportedly been on her way to a service organised by the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund – a charity set up after a close friend of Prince William and Prince Harry died in a car crash in 2002.
It is not clear whether she performed at the service following the incident.
